The room with the king bed had ample walking space. We received a box of chocolate candy for our anniversary. Great location with a view of the river and mountains. Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Extra towels provided promptly. Owners were friendly and attentive. Beautifully manicured grounds with swings, fire pit, and grills for guest use. A enjoyable stay overall.

The view of the river and chimney rock flag was absolutely breathtaking. Linda and Danny, the owners, were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. We loved being able to walk to the river and take a refreshing dip. The lodge had plenty of activities like games and a swing, and the quiet hours were respected by all. The front porch and balcony provided a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Coffee being ready at 6 am was a great bonus, and the lodge's location allowed us to easily walk to Chimney Rock town. we highly recommend Carter Lodge - On The River for a fantastic stay!

The room had all the necessary amenities like a coffee pot and a microwave. The location was perfect, right by the river and close to all the shops in town. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
The notes left by the hotel were a bit excessive, mentioning not to use their washcloth for makeup or to spill coffee on the sidewalk. The price seemed a bit high considering the lack of certain amenities.

Our visit was a trip down memory lane, exploring the filming locations of Dirty Dancing and Last of the Mohicans. The room was clean and the hosts, Linda and Danny, were friendly. The yard area overlooking the river had a swing, lounge chairs, and tables for relaxation. We enjoyed wading in the river, watching wildlife, and listening to the rapids. The views were stunning, and we loved being able to walk to Chimney Rock village in just 3 minutes.
Couldn't recommend this hotel more.
